Syracuse Beer Week: A barrel full of events Nov. 4-10, 2014
Celebrate Syracuse Beer Week — Sunday through Nov. 11 — with loads of tastings, samplings, beer-and-food pairings, beer dinner and other special events. Beer week is sponsored by greatbrewers.com (the web site affiliated with distributor T.J. Sheehan of Liverpool).
Events are scheduled both day and night at bars throughout the region, and samplings will be held at various stores that sell wide selections of craft and imported beers.
At 6 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 6), I’m hosting a talk (with tastings) on New York state’s thriving brewing industry. I’m currently writing a guide book called New York Breweries (2nd Edition). We’ll have beers from Ommegang, Brooklyn, Southern Tier, Empire, Middle Ages, and Sixpoint.
Other highlights includethe annual Brewmaster’s Dinner at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 8; Middle Ages Beer Dinner at Riley’s, 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 and the Baldwinsville Pub Crawl starting at 6 p.m. Nov. 9.
And the first Tipp Hill Beer Fest is 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at Tipperary Square, next to Coleman’s Authentic Irish Pub.
